Thanksgiving Dinner and Football

We got together this weekend with Aaron's family and had Thanksgiving lunch and dinner and everything in between. I had way too much to eat and was soooo full the whole afternoon, but at least I wasn't the only one. While the guys sat in the living room watching the football game, the girls gathered in Angel's bedroom and talked and laughed and had a good old time. It was fun because we were all curled up on the bed and thinking a nap sounded awesome, but the girl talk was too great to miss out on. Later in the evening we played loaded questions until all of us had to get going (especially Julie, she had to go home to George) hahahahaha!!! I have not laughed so hard in a long time, my sides were hurting!! We have an awesome family and I'm glad we can all get together and spend the whole day together.

A Bad Afternoon

My day wasn't going to bad until I headed for work this afternoon. I dropped Bubba off at school and headed for Bryan like I always do and when I got to St. Rt. 6 and 2 I stopped for on-coming traffic before I made my turn. Just as I stepped on the gas to go, the van stalled! It would not start and I was sitting in the middle of the intersection part way into the turn!! Luckily, two different gentlemen stopped and pushed the van around the corner and off the road. The one guy got out his jump box and tried to get the van going for me, but it didn't work! The one battery cable was loose for one thing and neither of us had a pair of plyers. So, I thanked him for trying and proceded to call Aaron. Of course, all I got was his voice mail and I didn't know what to do. I finally thought to call Ray and thank goodness he was able to come and help me out. It was funny because as soon as he pulled up, so did Eric and Jeff. They put me into Ray's nice warm van while they worked on getting my van running. Ray figured out that the battery wasn't being charged by the alternator again and he suggested that he follow me home because he wasn't sure how long the charge that he just gave me would last. We made it home and I took the truck to work. And Ray fixed the heat in the truck.....the knob was broke on the temperature control and he just took the knob off and used some pliers to turn it on!! I love him so much!
I thanked God all the way home and all the way back to Bryan for keeping the semi trucks away from that intersection when I was sitting there dead in the water.

Me, a perfectionist? Never!

My blog was really driving me crazy! The sidebar was way down at the bottom and I hadn't realized it until this weekend and by then I didn't realize WHY it was like that!! Then tonight it dawned on me that I had a picture over too far and that caused it to go down there. After doing that, I had to go back in and put Julie and Kayla's links back in because I had changed my template the other day when I was "trying" to get that stupid sidebar back where it should be!
But anyone who knows me can tell you that it is the little things that drive me crazy! Like the fact that NO ONE in this house can put a new roll of toilet paper on the roller!!!! The other day I found the new roll on the back of the toilet and confronted everyone about it and no one wanted to fess up to it! They just didn't want to hear my lecture!!! I know Aaron does it to drive me crazy, he has told me so! Something else that drives me crazy is that everyone can walk over trash or whatever it is a hundred times and not pick it up! No, I am not in a bad mood or anything. I just got started and couldn't quit at just one thing. :)
Got to get going....Things to do!

Updates

For one thing.....our internet is back up and running so I am finally able to get on here and update everyone with what is going on in our family!!
Leandra finished the volleyball season last week, their last game was sectionals and they played Edon! Of course she never got any playing time with the varsity team, but she loved being there anyway. She has now started basketball season!! They have had 3 hour practices every night this week and they are practicing today (Saturday) too!! Next week they have three scrimmages and their practices will be shorter by half an hour because the boys will start their practices and they won't have the gym to themselves anymore!
My internship at the courthouse is going really well. I have only been there a couple of days, but the girls I work with are nice and it is a good work environment. I am pretty much doing the work that they don't have time to do. A lot of filing of their records and misc. jobs. I did put my resume in for a job at the courthouse (same department, different floor) for a secretarial job. I think they got like 90 resumes for that job, so I'm not sure how good my chances are for getting it. The one thing I do have on my side is that I am interning with their department and the one girl said she would go talk with them about my resume. Pray for me that if this is where God wants me then it is all in his hands!
We took the kids trick or treating last Saturday night. We had decided that instead of hasseling with costumes this year, we would just paint faces and color their hair. It was soooooo much easier because you didn't have someone tripping over a costume or the costume getting in the way and we could all enjoy just being out and having fun together!!! I am posting the pictures of the kids in their make-up! Of course Leandra didn't go with us, she went out with her friends and then they had a "positive" costume party at the church for the high school and older kids.
Thursday night I went to watch the high school classes compete in "He-man" volleyball and then Friday night they did "Powder Puff" football. Leandra was a quarterback....can you believe it, she could actually throw the ball and she made a touchdown!! It was really funny to watch the girls.
Well, I am going to get out of here for now and will try to update again soon.
