Kindergarten Screening

This morning I had to take Bubba to kindergarten screening. He is the last one of our kids to start school and I have mixed feelings about it. It seems like just yesterday that he was born, that he started to walk, that he started to talk. I used to hold him and cuddle with him and now the only time he wants to be held is maybe when he doesn't feel good. He also started summer ball this year and he seems so small, I don't remember the girls seeming that small when they started! He is my baby, but I know I can't keep him little for the rest of his life. He is getting more and more independent and in a way I am glad. I think of the day when I can leave him alone and not have to have someone watching over him. But until that day comes I will probably cry on his first day of kindergarten, and wait anxiously for him to get home each day so I can hear about what he accomplished. I love all my kids, but Leandra and Bubba are closest to my heart. My oldest and my youngest will be starting a new phase of their lives next school year. Le will be starting high school and Bubba will be starting kindergarten.................and I will be a complete mess.

I Am Not Amused!

Thursday the temp outside started to drop, but I thought no big deal. Well, it became a big deal when it started snowing last night and I woke up this morning to find snow covering the ground!!!!!!! I could not believe it! And the fact that it was pretty much gone when we left church still did not help my mood any and now as I type this and look out through my window I see the wind blowing and snow coming down!!!! I may not be amused, but I am sure God is very amused by His peoples reactions. I read once that we are here to make God smile and I am sure with His practical joking of changing the weather on us is making Him laugh his head off!!! :)

Spring is Here!!!

I know spring is here because our schedule is getting hectic! At this same time every year ball season starts, plus school and the school sports and we are trying to clean up after what seemed like a long winter.
All four of the kids are in summer ball this year and of course they can't be on the same nights or at the same time! Bubba and Mikaela have practice on Tuesday and Thursdays, but at different times and at different ball fields. Teanna has practice on Monday and Wednesdays and Leandra has practice whenever her coaches decide to call one!!! I really don't like the fact that they are making Leandra's team practice already. A lot of the kids are still in track and by the time they get out of that practice they go straight to ball practice. Aaron has already said that if she has homework, then she will not be going to ball practice. That is fine with me because her grades are more important and she will have plenty of time to practice for ball.
Not only is ball starting, but I am working in the mornings on Tuesday and Thursdays at Unique Solutions. I really don't mind though because I get my laundry washed and dryed before I leave in the mornings and then in the afternoon I fold and straighten up the rest of the house. The schedule seems to be working out well for everyone.
The other night it was nice. Aaron, the kids, and I were outside playing catch and shooting hoops and just goofing around. I don't think anyone wanted to go in, but the kids needed baths and they had school the next day, so they had to get ready for bed.
Got to go.....Have a great day!

Ball Season

Well, it is now time for ball season!! All four of the kids' coaches have called and three of them have practices starting this week. I am glad the weather is getting warmer, but in another way I know that the summer brings on a hectic schedule. But we will manage the same as we always do every summer and everyone will be fine.

Days of Relaxing

The last couple of days and evenings have been great! The weather has been warm and everyone is outside. Monday night I took Le to a high school softball game in Butler. Kaitie is on the JV team and plays first base. It was a really nice night to sit and watch the game. Aaron had bought a grill for on the patio, so of course he had to cook out that night. We had brats.....man did they taste good!!
Last night was Le's first track meet of the season. They were at Fairview, against Hilltop and Fairview. The girls won by like 55 points!!! Le got 3rd (I think) in the 200 meter, her team won the 400 x 4, which she ran the last leg and they had an overall gain of like 1 minute, 25 seconds ahead of everyone else when they hit the finish line, and she won the 400 meter!!!! She is such an awesome runner!!!! Aaron had gone to the meet and the rest of the kids were at the playground, so I took some magazines and went out on the patio and read for a change. It felt so good to just sit and relax with the sun shining on me!
Tonight is Wednesday, which means a house full of teens!!!! But I asked Aaron to cook out on the grill, so they will have hamburgers and hot dogs for supper tonight! Hopefully it won't rain so they will go to the playground instead of being stuck in the house!

YAY JULES

My sister in law, one of my best friends, asked me to keep a secret a few weeks ago (actually since the end of February). It was very hard for me to keep this secret, especially from my husband/her brother!! But I did it because she asked me too and when he found out that we were keeping something from him I just told him that the news had to come from Jules. Of course the first thing he thought was that she was pregnant, so I HAD to tell him that wasn't it! :) She didn't want to disappoint anyone in her family if she didn't make it and I understand her reasons for that. But she had the courage to try and taking that first step is sometimes very hard without the pressures of everyone else.
But the good news is that she is in the musical production of Titanic!!!!! I am really proud of her for going through with it. We all know that she has a great voice, God has really blessed her.
And if she hadn't made it.....well, I would have kept her secret and been there to support and encourge her to try again!! Love ya Jules........congratulations, you deserve all that life has to offer!!!
